Washington Monument

I love Washington DC – there’s something about it that I really enjoy, and I’m not sure what it is. It could be all of the old landmarks that are everywhere and just begging to be photographed. I used to go frequently for work, but haven’t been there since early 2009. Pictured above is from my last trip there. It is a 3-shot HDR image of the Reflecting Pool and the Washington Monument in panorama crop. At the base of the Washington Monument you can slightly see the World War II Memorial monument stones.

This picture was taken late at night, so most of the tourists had retreated back to their hotels, and there were a few locals out for their nightly jog. Perfect time for clutter free photography. I was pretty bummed out that I had missed the Cherry Blossoms blooming by about a week, but I am still pretty happy with how this image came out.
